PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE
G’day mate! While our friends are enjoying summery weather Down Under, it’s beginning to get brrrrr ….. here in Calgary. T-shirts/muscle tank tops and shorts have been replaced with apparels to suit the weather. Well, I hope this message meets you in the best of health and happiness!
This club is certainly not run by one person. It is well supported by the members and run by dedicated volunteers and the board. As a token of appreciation, we had a volunteer lunch to express our thanks and gratitude to the volunteers. Thank you Theresa Khoo, for doing a fantastic job with coordinating this event. I would also like to give a shout out to Royal Taste Chinese Cuisine for being gracious and supportive. A lot of positive feedback on their food!
In addition to our regular active programs, we will be planning a session called Coffee with a Cop for learning / educating with communities. This will be done in collaboration with Radio Indonesia.
There will be further collaborations with FirstStep Together on a Human Rights presentation on November 29, 2025 at the clubhouse, see poster on MSBCA website for details and registration. Please come and learn together.
On the business side, our AGM/Election will be held at the MSBCA clubhouse on December 13, 2025 at 2:30 PM. Please come to this business meeting and learn more about MSBCA’s operation and direction. See MSBCA website for details.
Yes, it’s that time of the year in December for the man in “Red n White” to visit MSBCA from the True North! Why not celebrate with a Family Christmas Party in MSBCA pot luck-style on December 13, 2025, 5:30 PM. Meet friends, celebrate, make good memories especially photo shoot with the man in Red n White. He has a busy schedule so take the opportunity while it lasts. See MSBCA website for details and registration.
It won’t be too early to even mention the save the date for our MSBCA Chinese New Year Celebration Banquet. The venue is at Royal Taste Chinese Cuisine on February 21, 2026 at 5:30 PM. This time, the programming will be enhanced with more focus on family and friends, especially around each table. If possible, form a table of 10 people, which will help with table arrangements, if you can’t form a table, don’t worry our experienced volunteers can help with seating arrangements. To get tickets, it will be based on first come first served basis. Details of this celebration will be on the MSBCA website soon.
Until next time, stay active, stay happy, stay healthy and please take care of each other.
Cheers,
Peter Chai
