HAPPY LUNAR NEW YEAR 2025!

MSBCA will celebrate this auspicious and joyous occasion with a banquet at the Chinese Cultural Centre Cuisine on 16 February 2025 at 5:30 PM. Please come and share a meal together with families and friends. See details online and purchase your tickets. If possible, get a table of ten which is easier for table arrangement, otherwise our experienced team will help you with seating arrangement. Tickets will be on first come first served basis. As part of fundraising, you may purchase wine on MSBCA website. Looking forward to seeing you there! Please bring your SMILE too!
Our MSBCA is run and powered by volunteers and to thank them we will have lunch together as a small token of our appreciation on 18 January 2025 at Royal Taste Chinese Cuisine. Thank you, Kok Sim Looi and Theresa Khoo, for organizing this event.
The last Sunday Lunch, Char Kway Teow, Nasi Lemak, Tong Sui and Kueh Kueh (desserts) was held at the clubhouse in July 2024. This event was led by Team Ah Hock (Jesse Cheah). It always brings back good memories of our cultural heritage through this yummy food! Thank you, Jesse Cheah and team, for this event.
Sunday Lunches are always popular and involve hard work from volunteers. Many thanks to Theresa Khoo and team for the Curry Noodle and Rosalind Lee and team for the Nasi Kerabu Sunday lunches.
The Samples of Kopitiam at the clubhouse in September 2024 was a resounding success and the large attendance was totally unexpected in a good way compared to the previous Kopitiam. Thank you to all who attended including friends who came as far as Edmonton and Red Deer! The chefs and menu are all curated by Jesse Cheah and his team and hence, the best spread of food at Kopitiam. Thank you, Jesse Cheah and team, for this event.
Our AGM was held on 30-November-2024 at the clubhouse. Thank you to all who came to attend and support this important event. We are very grateful to both our treasurer Glen Chui who presented our finance on fund allocations, cash/investment, operations and forecast and our auditor Paul Teoh who presented our Financial Statement. Two motions were passed with regards to a more flexible date for AGM and to establish a study facility committee. Thank you, Jesse Cheah, for facilitating this meeting.
We had a Family Christmas Celebration at the clubhouse in December 2024. It was a memorable get-together with incredible spread of food, music (the kids stole the show with their singing) and line dancing. The big man in red and white, Santa Claus, arrived punctually from the North Pole to grace the celebration! Thank you to Theresa Khoo and her team who made this possible.
MSBCA have an array of programs for all to be involved and enjoy.
The Webpage Development Course was held at the clubhouse in December 2024 with the instructor Wenli Looi from US. Subsequent two classes will be conducted online as Wenli will be back in the US. This is Wenli’s way of giving back to the community. We are blessed and thank Wenli for his caring and generosity to share his knowledge and talent with us.
Other programs include SingKlub, Starlights Dance Group, Tai Chi, Joy of Dancing, Mahjong, Table Tennis, Pickleball and Biking. Others will be added as required. Thank you to all the leads for your time and dedication. You may find details of the programs in our website.
As you can see, I have been plenty blessed with a good board, all the team leads, volunteers, members and friends to make this a vibrant community. My sincere Ribuan Terima Kasih to all!
