Each year a team of MSBCA volunteers help at the Mustard Seed shelter and make fresh, nutritious meals to the homeless residents. We received the notice in May that our upcoming date would be on Saturday, June 29, 2019.
On Thursday evening, our team washed, cut, marinated and packaged the ingredients in our clubhouse kitchen. They would become hearty servings of teriyaki chicken and stir-fried vegetables with rice. On Saturday afternoon, we delivered the ingredients to the Mustard Seed and spent hours stir-frying in a big wok. The smells and juices were yummy. Dinner was ready to serve!
MSBCA’s donation of food is $500. We got a tour around the facility and made many residents smile.

Our Club yearly charity program to Mustard Seed took place on June 29, 2019 led by Adeline Chan together with a group of 15 members.
The teamwork to prepare the food for Mustard Seed started on June 27, 2019 and we cooked and served about 350 Mustard Seed homeless.
A tour of the shelter and their facilities was conducted by their staff. This was a good experience for us to witness the kindness of the volunteers and the donations provided to support the homeless to keep them warm and feel at home.
We look forward to contribute more to Mustard Seed for the coming year.
